On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, the first class of the "Conducting Global Health Research" international certificate program was launched, with seven GloCal fellows from the U.S., Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Thailand, and Bolivia participating. The certificate program, which is a new optional component of the GloCal Health Fellowship, is a collaboration between GloCal, UCSF, and the School of Public Health and Administration (FASPA) at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH). The program was inaugurated by Dr. Inés Bustamante, Vice Dean of FASPA, and Dr. Andrés Lescano, Associate Professor at FASPA, coordinator of the program and GloCal site PI at UPCH, together with Dr. Natasha Martin, UC San Diego Professor and one of the GloCal PIs. The inaugural session of this first component of the certificate program, the GloCal/UPCH Seminar on Global Health, was a presentation entitled "Construction, evaluation and validation of instruments", given by Dr. Kelika Konda, former GloCal fellow and Associate Professor at the University of Southern California.
