GloCal fellow Monica Diaz, MD, begins new position as Assistant Professor of Neurology at UNC Chapel Hill
Recent 2019-2020 GloCal fellow Monica Diaz, MD, has just begun a new position as Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Division of Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology at UNC Chapel Hill, where she will treat patients with neurological infections and autoimmune conditions affecting the brain. In this position Dr. Diaz will be spending 50% of her time in Peru, in efforts to develop a global neurology research program at UNC, a bilateral neurology resident exchange program between Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH) and UNC, and global neurology track for UNC residents. She is also preparing to apply for an NIH career development award (K01) through Fogarty based on the work she did in Peru during her GloCal fellowship.
