Mission
The Center for Gender and Health Justice envisions a world in which equitable gender norms lead to health and empowered people, including our University of California students.
To realize this vision, we aim to promote justice and scientific advances that reduce gender and health inequities locally and globally. Grounded in human rights principles, our approach is transdisciplinary, action-oriented, and transformative.
Through innovative research, education and collaboration, we build and strengthen the capacity of the next generation of leaders in gender and health justice.
Goals
- Reach large numbers of UC students through pioneering education activities
- Catalyze new teaching on gender and health justice using our scholarly work
- Engage all 10 UC campuses in our work
- Partner and collaborate with local and global NGOs to expand advocacy for gender equality and the human right to health
